Cunnilingus, the gestures that matter

2 April 2026 · 5 min read · The editors

The tongue does not have to mimic a piston. The clitoris, the rhythm and the right to guide do almost everything.

Settle in to last

A pillow under her hips, the person giving pleasure lying comfortably between her thighs. If the neck aches after a minute, the tongue tenses and the gesture becomes mechanical. Change angle before you are sore.

The clitoris is the subject

Most women need clitoral stimulation to come. A tongue in and out of the vagina can feel good; it is rarely enough. Start wide, on the outer labia and the mound, then move closer to the glans of the clitoris, which is very sensitive: too direct, too soon, and the body closes.

A flat, slow tongue, then the flat becoming more pointed, then a circle. When a rhythm works, keep it. Changing figure every five seconds blocks the build.

Hands and voice

A finger in the vagina, curled towards the belly, can accompany. It is not required, and it is done with a short nail and a clean hand. The other hand can rest her pelvis, stroke a thigh, or simply stay.

“Higher”, “softer”, “don’t change anything” are lines to hope for, not to dread. If she puts a hand on your head, follow the pressure instead of reading it as a script.

Through to the end, then not too much

As it builds, you do not stop to ask if it is good, and you do not speed up from enthusiasm. You continue exactly what was working. After orgasm, the clitoris often cannot take insistence. Slow down, kiss the thigh, let the body come down.
